Practical training on the Gouray gardening site for the benefit of 30 women from the community

As part of the capacity building and empowerment of vulnerable women due to the armed conflict in Mali, the Kal-Adiama Association and its partner Soroptimist International – Sweden, after the theoretical training, are organizing this time a practical training on the Gouray gardening site for the benefit of 30 women from the community. This activity, which an expert will carry out, aims to put the women beneficiaries in direct contact with the gardening environment—at the same time, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the different work tools, cultivation methods, types of seeds, soil preparation, soil maintenance, etc. The trainer presented the different vegetables are grown in market gardening areas and their impacts on food security and nutrition. The women reaffirmed their full availability and unwavering commitment to practice gardening. At this stage, their ambition still faces some significant challenges shared with the partner.

The association Kal Adiama and the women expressed the need for a space of 2 hectares and a water tower equipped with solar panels to cover the water needs. After collecting the recommendations made by the beneficiaries, Kal-Adiama reiterated all his availability and support to concretize the initial project, which is garden space for the community.
